The irony of this photo, she wasn't modeling for me at all. She was trying to prevent me from getting a picture of her.

Even though she wasn't modeling, the title and her intention fits together. :)

I like her pose, she covers the head trying to become invisable. That's a typical pose children do when they're scared - I can't see it, so it will go away. Here it backs up the atmosphere very well. Yet I think the photo could be darker, so that it gets a more drastic atmosphere. Maybe you could have played more with the light, more and harder shadows would be great. The less of colour is a good choice, I like the bluish/violet style. Intensive colours wouldn't work here 'cause they would destroy the atmosphere of the situation.

Overall, it's a great photo with much impact. :)

thanks for the critique. i agree that it should have been darker. had this photo been more intentional, i probably would have thought about that more when taking it. i may go back to photoshop and see if there is a possibility of getting that effect.
